Tell Senate to Finally Repeal the Death Tax
**Death Should NOT Be A Taxable Event!

**ALERT: A bill sponsored by U.S. Congressman Kenny Hulshof (R-MO) to permanently repeal the federal estate tax – better known as the “Death Tax” – passed the U.S. House recently by a 272-162 margin. In 2001, Congress passed a gradual phase-out of the Death Tax. However, the Death Tax is currently scheduled to spring back to life in 2011. Hulshof’s bipartisan bill, the “Death Tax Repeal Permanency Act,” would eliminate the Death Tax once and for all.

The Death Tax is unfair, inefficient, economically unsound and, let’s be honest, IMMORAL. Most Americans agree that it is fundamentally unfair to allow the federal government to seize more than half a person’s assets when he or she dies. We MUST end this tax on virtue, work, savings, job creation and the American dream – and end it for good.

Now that the repeal has overwhelmingly passed the U.S. House, we finally have a chance to get it through. However, the permanent repeal of this outrageous tax faces ANOTHER Democrat filibuster in the U.S. Senate – and we may be just short of the 60 votes needed to overcome that filibuster.

We MUST make our voices heard on this issue!

TAKE ACTION: As Rep. Hulshof stated, “It’s time for the Death Tax to die forever. This unfair tax is punitive in nature and a tremendous burden on family farmers and small business owners.” It’s time to reinstate fairness and certainty for those who are impacted by this job-killing tax.

It’s just plain common sense that the death of a family member should NOT be a taxable event to tell your Senators to SUPPORT the “Death Tax Repeal Permanency Act”.

NOTE: Be sure to send this Alert to EVERYONE you know who wants to finally see the Death Tax PERMANENTLY repealed! Thank you!

Maybe if the terms were crafted such that it REALLY mostly benefitted small business owners and heirs it would be able to get more support from Democrats.

Is it REALLY good for kids to inherit $75,000,000 that they never had to work for? Does a lot of good actually come of that for such people? I wonder.

Perhaps if it were changed to allow the tax to kick back in above the threshold that truly affects the passage of farms and small businesses it would appeal to all.

What small business passes on 75,000,000 to their children?

And why does the government lay claim to any assets that an individual builds up in his lifetime?

Everything is a taxable event. Birth, death, living, buying, selling, owning a home, using the internet, the telephone, the cable TV, the bus, the subway, the highways, employing or being employed, going to the doctor, the lawyer or the tax accountant.

Should they be?

I’d like to see a few less taxable events.

But, as a society we’d have to get back to a point where we don’t rely so much on government (i.e. other people’s money.)

Another thought:

Real Estate taxes, for example, just means that you never really own your own home. Even when it’s “paid off” there’s still a yearly rent to be paid to the government. If you don’t pay the rent, you won’t own it for long. And the rent can be raised arbitrarily.

A good case to eliminate all taxes and fees and go to a national sales tax.

and make it even more difficult for less fortunate americans to be able to afford the things they need (i.e. groceries, vehicle, clothing, etc.). if the people in the church would do their job and support the poor, we wouldn’t have a need for government other than for defense and carrying out of laws.

No, those people would get their full paycheck and not have taxes taken out, so they would have more money to spend.

Basics would not be taxed under the plan. It is basically a consumption tax that you decide whether you want to pay by what you buy.
