I had the awesome opportunity to evangelize today. I did what Jesus did…I told stories. I have been blessed with some amazing experiences witnessing to the Divine Presence. Things I could never make happen. My disciples were enthralled! My fiance and I spoke about the church as the “Patron of the Arts.” These were artists who loved that idea and had a great respect for the music, architecture, statues and paintings so wonderful in our history. What I learned today was how important it is to share personal stories and MEET THEM WHERE THEY ARE AT and entertain the areas that are of particular interest to them.
We discussed how the church is encouraging a delivery of truths from the “heart” and not from fear. I realized how a truth can be taught but what gets translated is what is motivating the discussion, fear, ego or heart. Attitude and disposition have everything to do with how well the message is received. People don’t want to be proved wrong they want to be loved and they want the truth given to them in love. Example: “If you commit this sin you are going to hell!” as opposed to, “I’m concerned for you because those behaviors will lead to you being enslaved and miserable. Those behaviors/decisions will hurt you. God wants you to live in freedom and show you a way that leads to fulfillment.”
Anyway, We were well received and it was awesome! The whole room at the bar was listening to us and enjoying our light dispositions and enthusiasm.
