What’s the point of not giving into the sin your struggling with since you can just repent sincerely and go to confession?
 
Because that in itself - assuming you can just fall into sin and repent and confess later - is another sin, called the sin of presumption.
You’re presuming that it’s okay for you to sin and God will forgive you.
That’s a sin.

Forgiveness of sins requires the proper disposition.

Catechism of the Catholic Church
1451 Among the penitent’s acts contrition occupies first place. Contrition is "sorrow of the soul and detestation for the sin committed, together with the resolution not to sin again."50

It’s better to live in the present and there is value in the struggle. Doing as you suggest would seem to make the sin more serious/grave.
 
Act of Contrition…

I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

Because going down that road you may very well get used to it and become enslaved to sin. It has happened to many.
