Term Paper on "General Catechetics for the New Evangelization"

I am currently enrolled in the Catechetical Diploma Program at Catholic Distance University. I enrolled in the Winter 1 Term for "General Catechetics for the New Evangeliztion. I will need to write a Term Paper and would like to write it on a topic pertaining to the course. I have thought about writing a Term Paper on Biblical Catechesis or Liturgical Catechesis. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could suggest other topic or books that I should read. Thank you.

I have lots of books I could suggest possibly. Can you be a little more specific as to what type of book ? Peace be with you

Other possibilities:
  • Catholic tradition.
  • Community life.
  • Human experience.
  • Moral teachings.
  • Forms of prayer.
 
What year are you in and what level is this term paper, how many words, how many references etc.

You might be surprised to know my country has never had a tradition of formal catechist teaching at the parish level, nor employed catechists, in the same way as USA does.

I get the ever growing impression that catechists in my country don’t actually know anything about catechesis. The last one’s I’ve come across didn’t own a catechism. I actually question myself about what it is they teach…
 
I would suggest an explanation of the nicean-constantiople creed with emphasis on eternal procession.
 
The course “General Catechetics for the New Evangelization” focused on the Nature of Catechetics and the methods that should govern the art of good catechesis. The course explores the nature, mission and purpose of catechesis with an emphasis on biblical catechesis, development of doctrinal lesson planning, and the principles and methods that the Church has encouraged for a variety of catechetical roles. I would like to do is to choose a topic on which to write my Term Paper. Once I have a topic I can than formulate a thesis statement.

The Catechetical Diploma program with Catholic Distance University is a two to three year program depending on how many courses to take each year. For me it will be three years. I am currently in my first year. For the Term Paper the requirement is three books and three magazine articles.

Peer reviewed resources? And do they give you a list of suggested readings?

Do you come out the other end able to be employed as a Catechist ?

Keep the topic narrow, what is your word limit? So you might pick something about Biblical Catechism, or one book, or era, or event.

Or tie in one of the suggestions like the creed and the Bible, human experience in an area of the Bible, or forms of prayer and the Bible.
