I have to be honest…there’s not much I like about Terry McCauliff. Here is a man who professes to be a Catholic but believes in abortion and other things that are in conflict with the Catholic Church. This is were the rubber meets the road; I don’t believe McAulife should be admitted to the Knights and I think the Knights should communicate to the public the exact reasons he was not accepted. I’ve long complained that peole like John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Terry M et al should not be allowed to use the media to proclaim what good Catholic Christians they are in one breath and support abortion, homosexual marriage, etc. in the next. When they, through a national media outlet, make such statements the Church should respond in kind with a clarifying statement. I think this would achieve a couple of worthwhile things; first I believe many of these politicians would stop making such statements because they wouldn’t want a public fight with the Church and this, in turn, would reduce spreading the error that it’s OK to be a Cafeteria Catholic.
