Hello everyone,
I have just come back from confession, I have to share this with you.
I have been holding back from confessing a serious sin from my youth (30 years ago). But I could not stand the guilt any longer, so I decided that today would be the day. So off I went ,to another parish, that is how ashamed I was!, I prayed for the courage to go in and tell all, after waiting, nearing the end of the time allowed for confession, in I went.
After a pause to pluck up courage I confessed my sin, plus a few others. The priest could not have been kinder !!! he said he was humbled to hear my confession!, he said God has forgiven me, and the burden of that sin and the rest of course was gone.
To say I feel relieved is an understatement, I thank God for guiding me to that priest, so what I am saying is, if you feel as I did that your sin or sins are unforgivable please, go and unburden yourself as I did, you won’t regret it I assure you.😃 I thank God for loving me.🙂

I agree wholeheartedly, too. 🙂 👍

Hi Mick,

Thanks for sharing, Confession is indeed a very awesome and joyous Sacrament. Thank God for this great gift and the priests he has given us as a channel to find forgiveness.

Peace!

Thank you, O Lord, for giving us the Tribunal of Your Mercy.

Hello again,
Many thanks for your kind replies, and thanks in advance to anyone else who reads and answers. I am still on a high after losing all that guilt!!

Blessed Be God Forever 🙂

did you expect the priest to fall out of the confessional in shock? lol

It’s wonderful to read stories like these, and gives us all great joy to welcome you back into the fold.

We all hope you continue to go to confession and receive the most generous mercy of our Lord, Who can never be outdone in generosity.

God Bless

that is so awesome!!! 😃

and encouraging! I’m going to my first Confession next Wednesday… and sometimes I get so worried, but reading your post really helped! 🙂

God bless you!!

When I first went to confession after many years away, I was quite relieved that the priest didn’t gasp in horror or fall out of his chair. I don’t know exactly WHAT I expected him to do, but he didn’t bat an eye.

This sacrament of mercy and healing is a wonderful, often uappreciated, gift. I’ll be receiving it this afternoon.

Thanks, OP, for sharing your story!

I think I am feeling tears coming to my eyes. Such relief is something so beautiful.
