I would be remiss to not offer thanksgiving for some recent events in my life and to share with those of you who have been so gracious with your time in prayer to include my petitions. I have asked for prayer for my son who was unemployed and battling addiction with a child on the way. He secured a job Friday. He also made an EXTREMELY mature decision Sunday which surprised even me! I do believe so strongly in the power of prayer and appreciate the fact that I see God working. I try not to worry as I believe that is an indication I do not trust that God’s will be done and I battle it. However, I am SO grateful for the blessings that have been bestowed upon us and will work harder at turning my worries over to our Heavenly Father. O God, I know You are at work in our lives every minute. Thank You for evidence of Your presence and thank You for the wonderful people at CAF who give so freely of themselves in prayer for others. I pray that I be strong enough in my faith to rest in the comfort of Your all knowing will. Amen.

Amen Amen praise the Lord for His workings in your life. You are right we must praise almost as much as we request. It is hard to rm’r to do always.

I like this prayer of Thanksgiving I just found recently

Oh, God, when I have food
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work, help me
to remember the jobless;
When I have a warm home,
help me to remember the homeless;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer;
And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency
and bestir my compassion.
Make me concerned enough to help, by word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.

May God continue to pour out His loving kindness to you and your family.

The Lord is good and all generosity is in Him.

🙂 Thank you Jesus.

The Lord answers all who call His name, our duty is to hear and we usually are in the way of His work - wonderful news and prayers continue for your son’s success.

Thank you Jesus, Mary and Joseph for bringing my 15 year old daughter home safely.

What wonderful news, sjegts!

Thanks be to God!

I made the mistake early this morning of not getting everyone’s cell phone numbers as my daughter left with her best friend and another girl to the seashore. This was her first trip out there without us. Her friend was celebrating her 17th birthday and the good thing (or so I thought) was that her mother would be driving. She left at 9 this morning and we didn’t hear from her all day until 30 minutes before my post. Her cell phone died; she didn’t take her charger; her friend doesn’t own one; her friend’s mother left hers on the porch at home; and the other girl forgot she had hers. Our daughter always checks in at least once every couple of hours if she’s going to be out most of the day; which is not often. She’s a good girl…so blessed that we are as parents. But she didn’t think to call collect from a pay phone as she was having to much fun. In the meanwhile, it’s getting later and later and I can’t get hold of friend’s father or anyone else. By sundown, I was upset but not scared. By 8 pm, no messages had been returned and I was scared but holding it together. I checked her e-mail for possible messages and called the local hospitals. I can barely type for tears…I have never had to call the hospital to look for any loved ones. I was calm as I dialed the hospital but when I had to relay my concerns about possible car accidents or drowinings, I could no longer speak. My husband was already gone to the seashore to look for them and terrible, terrible feelings entered my mind. By 9pm, the prayer of Jesus Mary and Joseph came into my mind. I recited for 5 minutes when the phone rang…it was my daughter telling me she was sorry she hadn’t called and that we had worried. I asked her just to come home and she was home shortly thereafter. No talking tonight, too many emotions to deal with…too much sunburn to deal with…new rules in the morning for all of us. God Bless us and thank you.

Thanks be to God! :gopray2:

Sorry to hear about the great fear and worry you experienced due to the whole thing with your daughter. She sounds like she did not mean to worry you. Thank God for keeping her safe!

Ask and you shall recieve, thank You Lord for hearing us, and thank you for letting us pray

It is great to thank the Lord, even in times of trial. Always thank Him for His goodness and blessings to us.

Amen. And thank you Sjegts for setting the example for me.:angel1:
