Please pray for me that I may renounce all immoral and sinful thoughts and obtain the gift of purity and chastity.

I have had a similar struggle. I prayed about it here on CAF, and by the grace of God, I finally went to confession.

I’m praying for you, that God may grant you what you ask.

Lord, please grant Johann du Toit many graces for the virtues of faith, hope, love, joy, courage, fortitude, and purity. Send angels to help this soul always to remain on the path of chastity. Sever the suffocating clouds of this fallen world with a refreshing breath from heaven into Johann du Toit’s life. Send angels to help with this cause. Have mercy, Lord. Our Lady, angels, and saints, pray with us. Amen.

One method that helps a lot, though I wouldn’t expect it to work in one day, though it actually has worked in one day for me in the past, is to say a daily Rosary. One entire set of mysteries. Generally I’ll go by whatever the recommended mysteries are, but if, for example, I have the urge to say the Sorrowful mysteries instead of the Joyful on a particular Monday, I will.

It is important that you say it every day, no excuses. I’m actually saying mine right now. Lustful thoughts won’t go away immediately and certainly not without a willing decision on your part, but the Rosary is an extremely powerful prayer in dealing with and keeping at bay habitual temptations. I also have a daily devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows, and say one of the seven decades of the Seven Sorrows chaplet every day before I fall asleep. On days I pull an all-nighter, if I didn’t say that day’s earlier, I’ll say two the next day to catch up, but that’s only happened once I think. Likewise, don’t beat yourself up if you forget or fall asleep early, but do make an honest effort to say the Rosary once a day. It will help. Invoking Mary’s intercession whenever you feel tempted is also very helpful in keeping errant thoughts away, and it can be as simple as asking Mary to pray for you and asking God to grant you the grace to deal with your temptations, just to yourself. I’ll include you in my intentions tonight.
 
St. Michael the Archangel,

Mary, Mother most pure, and Joseph, chaste guardian of the Virgin, to you I entrust the purity of my soul and body. I beg you to plead with God for me that I may never for the remainder of my life soil my soul by any sin of impurity. I earnestly wish to be pure in thought, word and deed in imitation of your own holy purity. Obtain for me a deep sense of modesty, which will be reflected in my external conduct. Protect my eyes, the windows of my soul, from anything that might dim the luster of a heart that must mirror only Christ-like purity. And when the “Bread of Angels” becomes my food in Holy Communion, seal my heart forever against the suggestions of sinful pleasures. Finally, may I be among the number of those of whom Jesus spoke, “Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God.” Amen.
 
Prayer for the Virtue of Chastity

Jesus, Fortress of mankind, bless me with Your infinite graces, that I may remain in a state of purity. Strengthen my body, spirit and soul to continually reflect Your chastity. Protect my soul in its daily struggles, guiding it to ponder on Your Godliness. Defend me from the forces of evil, those that seek to acquire my soul: I am truly Yours forever and ever. Holy is my King, the Conqueror of sin! :gopray:
