Has anyone attended or has had a THAT MAN IS YOU (TMIY) program and their Chruch?

I have attended classes for this program at my local parish. We meet at 6am Thurs. mornings. At first my thought was about how hard it would be to get up and go to these events so early and before work!! But to my pleasant surprise these events were soo amazing that I looked forward to each Thurs. morning to attend the TMIY classes!!

Each morning we have a good breakfast, socialize with other Catholic guys that are eager to grow and learn more of the faith and how to better our lives, families, and communities. Even more shocking to me was when I attended for the first time and saw some of my fellow CO-WORKERS…now I am happy to call them some of my really good friends!

If you don’t have at your parish it is something great to look into. The program is also under the name PARADISUS DEI they offer other types of gatherings for women, and couples.

The TMIY program gives a great scientific perspective on today’s world and how events leads us to where we are and how we can reaffirm ourselves and communities to put us on God’s path to peace and favor.

Hello
There are 3 parishes in my diocese (that I know of) who are participating in That Man is You. I havent gone consistently but I have always left each session with a sense of brotherhood. One of the most interesting men who attends each session is an old family friend who left the church about 20 years ago. He told me over the years a couple reasons why he left one being a lack of socializing/brotherhood. Hope he makes his way back into full communion and bring back some of our other brothers. I hope this came out right. Good intentions arent always apparent on internet forums.
Peace

I feel the same when I leave the meetings. The sense of brotherhood and friendship is something I had looked for in the church.

I didn’t want to just attend Mass and then just leave without meeting and socializing with my fellow Catholic brothers and sisters.

We have about 80 men show up on Friday mornings and they started another one on Tuesday evenings. This is my 5th year and I look forward to it every time I go. I wish this had been around 40 years ago when I got married but it is never too late.

We have it Saturday mornings 6-7:30 and average 35 guys on a regular basis which is a large group for our parish (especially for men [especially in the morning {especially on a Saturday]}). This is our fifth year and it’s quietly grown from originally 10 members to what it is now to include a couple hundred individuals that have passed through our doors at one time or another. I think we might out number the parish KoC chapter. Guys bring their friends and family to one class just to check it out. We have one convert to the faith that I know of. Some protestants even love it. We occasionally have guest speakers like our parish priest or religious sister to talk about fatherhood. We have a men’s library in the back with free CDs and books to check-out or keep. We try to give away book gifts at Christmas and Easter to everyone present.

TMIY is my weekly shelter, reminder, sustenance, and training ground to focus on my marriage, fatherhood, and spiritual life as a man. I would be in a world of hurt without it and the other men I can talk to, share ideas, get ideas, and encourage.

Based on the sociological data presented, I think evangelizing men should be the primary goal of the New Evangelization. Without holy men families fail and societies fail. All the youth groups in the world cannot measure up to one father humbly pursuing God in his prayer life with his family.

I can’t recommend this program enough.
