I can relate to your fears. I suspect it is because of the love of your young children your fears run deep. My daughters are in thier 20’s now. I can recall in the year 1984 give or take, the movie “The Day After” was on television one evening. It scared me to death. I found myself feeling guilty for brining a new baby girl into a world that was quite possibly going to suffer a nuclear holocaust. I was deeply disturbed and depressed. But low and behold we were blessed with our Holy Father Pope John Paul II to help pull us out of that awful potential.

We will always be faced with fear, realistic or unrealistic, but remember, God told us to be fruitful and multiply. Trust that he had your three wonderful children in mind when He said that.

Maybe Beetlejuice will supernova in the year 2012. That will be an unprecidented cosmic event as it will not be night again for a long long time.

If it goes into supernova we should at least have the right spelling;) : Betelgeuse.
 
I was going to PM you :hmmm: but I think I have worked out how I want to write this post. If it sounds demeaning at all, that is NOT the intent :blushing:

I would not give it a 2nd thought :nope: Nothing to worry about :console: If someone can come up with a date of a future catastrophic disaster, that tells me that that is not the date for such. There are too many doomsday prophets & not enough real ones in the world.

My advice: forget about it. Live in His love :getholy:

I wouldn’t worry about Betelgeuse, it is almost certainly too far away for its death to be a major problem for Earth (other than messing up one of the most beautiful constellations on Earth that is :)). In fact, to the best of the my knowledge, there are no serious candidates for a Type Ib, Ic or II supernovae that are close enough to Earth to be an immediate threat (unless we happen to be in the path of a gamma-ray burst… but that is unlikely in the extreme). Now type Ia supernovae are a more likely threat, but I think any of them rank pretty low on the list of risks compared to what man does to himself.

Would you mind terribly posting some information about this prediction you’re so nervous for your children over? Who said this? A Church? Movie? Book? Internet Site? Dream? Where does this come from? Just a link is fine. I just need to know about it, so I can address it directly. I’m completely and totally unfamiliar with the entire concept, and I’ve studies a LOT of religion.

I actually thought they might have named the movie/ cartoon character after this star. The thought never occurred to me that it wasn’t spelled that way.
 
I still think the world is going to end in 2000… you watch and see… I am probably right!
