After seeing some of the (awful) outfits of celebrities at the Met Gala this year and the media praise heaped upon them, I’ve been wondering: should I be offended? Did the event cross a line into a place it shouldn’t be? I feel like it did, but I wanted to get opinions from more mature and knowledgeable Catholics before I said anything.

It says more about you than them because it’s over & you still feel like killing them everyday with your death stare.

‘Being offended’ is a fundamental weakness. Ideally it should never be indulged in.
Personally I am looking forward to the exhibition which also takes part at the Met Cloisters.
There is no denying that Catholic imagery had tremendous impact on fashion so the show’s idea and premise is great.

Premise? A great opportunity to show the influence we’ve had on the world. Execution? Rihanna’s “sexy pope” feels like it strayed into unacceptable territory.

It’s extremely irreverent and blasphemous tbh. We must pray for them and honestly protest too.
