The Abundant Life on EWTN (for this week)

Hi,

I am just wondering if any of you plan on watching “The Abundant Life” on EWTN sometime this week. This week’s show will have Suzanne Baars as a guest. I am interested in seeing it and I plan to watch it at midnight tonight (I think the listings vary per area).

Suzanne Baars is the surviving daughter of Conrad Baars (died in 1981, I think), a Catholic psychiatrist. Conrad Baars is known to have done research on the areas of affirming one another–how it is important for each person to experience genuine and unconditional love from one another. I have two of his books, Healing the Unaffirmed and Born Only Once.

But if any of you plan on watching The Abundant Life, please post here and let me know. If you watched it, tell me what you thought of it.

I haven’t seen this week’s episode.

However, I’ve seen her on prior episodes of Abundant Life on EWTN. I don’t know… she speaks in such general terms that what she says is quite beyond me.

I s’poze I need someone to touch the ground sometimes for me to be able to connect with what they’re saying.

She keeps referring to what her father had spoken about as if I would know about who her father even is/was. Darn… I don’t have a clue… I’m told by others that I’m pretty intelligent (as if it’s a compliment… I just know that’s just how God made me, but I’d rather be more wise than intelligent… I digress…) so I feel really left out of the topic that she’s trying to talk about.


I guess I need to look at Johnette’s Web site for Living His Life Abundantly … www.lhla.org … to read up on Suzanne Barrs so I understand who she is and why Johnette has her on so frequently on Abundant Life series at EWTN.

I’ve seen Suzanne Baars on EWTN and was intrigued by her father’s story. I have “Doctor of the Heart” that is more of a biography. Which of Dr Baar’s books would you suggest to understand his theories?

This program was wonderful! I have read both of these books and let me tell you they are great! They really made me take a good look at myself… I really enjoy most of the “Abundant Life” segments too. I really suggest watching this one w/ Suzanne Baars.:yup:
