What is the American Dream? Cant people make business’s and money in EVERY country in the world? Are we just lucky?
 
It’s not just an American dream. It’s one of those things some seem to think is unique to the US but it really isn’t.

It isn’t called the American dream outside of America, but it is fairly standard throughout the world.
 
Yes you can but america is the land of excess you have tons and tons of food there government assistance not available in mexico and other third world countries also you have minimum wage job protection laws and excellent medical care and emergency care so america is a very successful place here in mexico its hard to get ahead minimum wage is 60 dollars american a week imagine paying rent and feeding your family on that ? Also imagine breaking an arm and the hospital turning you away if you cant pay or imagine your boss firing you without justifiable cause or working you 4 hours more without overtime or imagine seeing kids starving in the street since there is no help for the impoverished its really sad here to see daily. so you see america is the land of plenty for most people here in mexico and latin america or other third world countries. Count yourself blessed to live in america i pray to god every night things will change and immigration will let my family go back.
 
The thesis for my big high school term paper way back when was that the American Dream does not exist. 😛

Good comment and excellent perspective. I forget who said it but I remember hearing someone say America is the only country where the poor look healthy. lol
 
It’s called work hard earn hard. Nobody said it was perfect, it’s a dream.
