The Amish and Forgiveness

I thought readers of this forum would find the Amish response to the schoolhouse shootings a year ago very interesting. It is from the Baltimore Sun, October 7, 2007. I think we can all learn something about Christian values from their stance.

There is a great book, “Left to Tell: Discovering God amidst the Rwandan Holocaust”, by Immaceluee Ilibigaza, who tells her story about surviving the Rwandin genocide in 1994 - a million people were wiped out in 90 days! The whol basis of the book was her getting to the point she could truly forgive these people in her heart. It is a hard book to put down, I highly recommend it as an excellent lesson to us all in what true forgiveness really is, and what a cross to bear in following Jesus!
