Because the vagaries of your planet’s progress around your yellow sun, and because of the whirling of it’s largest satellite, this year the Feast of the Annunciation fell on Palm Sunday. Hence, our celebration of this great mystery has been postponed until today.

And the Word became flesh.

Thanks for posting this. I thought the Annunciation had moved, but for some bizarre reason Catholic Culture, which is the liturgical calendar I generally use, did not list it as having moved to this day for 2018, so I wasn’t sure where it had moved to.

Hey I’d like your opinion. When I said my Rosary today I said five decades but each one was dedicated to the Annunciation in honor of the feast day. So I prayed five Annuciation mysteries. Do you think that is okay?

Unless you’re doing some devotion that requires specific mysteries, I’d say it’s fine to use five Annunciations. Or whatever mystery you like from the 20 that are promulgated by the Church.

The only time I feel a little odd is when I see some Rosary books that are basically making up their own sets of holy mysteries. I’m never sure if those meet the general requirement “to meditate on the mysteries” so I avoid them, unless the mysteries are clearly related to or a subset of an existing mystery (for instance, if somebody was doing mysteries based on the Way of the Cross then that’s obviously just like meditating on The Carrying of the Cross through several decades).
