Did any CAF members watch the whole thing? I can’t say that I’ve really seen it, but I’m glad that a few seconds of footage from the underrated soap opera Santa Barbara were used in the eighth installment. (For the record, a young, long-haired Robin Wright appeared in that footage.) Perhaps the current (and final) season of The Americans will utilize Santa Barbara footage as well.

Why would I watch it? I am concerned that you seem to have an unhealthy attachment to “popular entertainment.” As the majority, if not all, your discussion threads appear to imply. Are you lonely and this is your way of reaching out?
Because I have failed to see what any of this has to do with Catholicism. Please enlighten me.

Santa Barbara? Why would you be glad to see an underrated (because it wasn’t worth watching?) show in a made for TV movie about a murder from many years ago?

well versace & his sister donatella were cultural catholics; at the least; who knows what was in their hearts with regards to catholicism; so was andrew the killer

i watched every episode of the mini-series

i i thought the acting & script was VERY good; i recommend it

I have the same concern.

This is not a Hollywood, TV, entertainment, or celebrity discussion board. It you’re that interested in obscure television and celebrity news items, you should be seeking out some entertainment or TV discussion forum to post this stuff, where you can discuss it with people who share your interest in the topic.

“Assassination”? He wasn’t a government official, etc. He was a designer. The more appropriate term would be murder.

Well, the OP did post the thread in Popular Media which to me covers television, movies, books, etc.
I agree many of the OP’s threads seems centered around the Hollywood film industry.
I have heard the talk about this show, but I have no interest in watching it. I am not someone absorbed with fashion or with
Versace’s lifestyle. It was a tragic murder. And I have lesser interest in the man who killed him.

The issue is that the OP repeatedly posts many of these types of threads, often in Popular Media, that are just discussing some aspect of a TV program, Hollywood, celebrity gossip, etc. with only a tenuous connection or no connection to a Catholic issue.

It’ s one thing to post, “Did you see the program on Gianni Versace? What did you think of the portrayal of Versace’s Catholicism?”

It’s something else to post, “Did you see this program? I was really excited that they included a minute of old footage from an underrated soap opera that had Robin Wright in it”, none of which has anything to do with Catholicism, religion, or any related issue.

I realize some of these topics have nostalgia value, but to me this is like if I suddenly made 10 threads about recipes or dog breeds. it’s chitchat. The “Casual Discussion” category might be a good place to put one or two chatty threads on TV shows (or dogs) that have nothing to do with Catholicism or religion, but I see the “Popular Media” forum as being meant for discussion of “Popular Media” relating to some Catholic or religious topic.
