Before I even get into my question: Just before posting, I read a “sticky” that quoted P2477 of the Catechism, “Offenses To The Truth.” Have I mentioned lately that I find more to respect about the Catholic Church every day? Maaaaaan.
Okthen.
I listen to Catholic Radio almost exclusively now (ya gotta give me points for trying), and last night I caught a discussion on the authority of Priests. Apparently they have the authority to bless; there is some authority delegated to Deacons in certain situations, etc.
My question is: What authority (if any, and of any kind) does the run-of-the-mill lay believer have? And for sake of discussion, we can include the Head Of Household in this.
(And yes, “The Believer’s Authority” is the title of a rather famous text. But, please, I get slapped around by fellow Protestants enough as it is for my beliefs; I’m not out to sell anyone here anything, lol).
