need_to_know:
E-Sword - I have the PC version on my computer (they do a Pocket PC version as well.) 25 versions of the bible and all for free, completely legal!
e-sword.net/
Great site!
The last time I checked e-sword they only carried the incomplete and abridged versions of Scripture and no authorized versions by Christs Church. I see they now have the DRV for example so they are comming along and being more honest or at least offering various complete versions. This is good.
I also use
biblegateway.com to look up Scripture online but they remain totally loyal to the Protestant edited and abridged versions with only 66 books. It’s a great site too if you don’t mind the Protestant editing of Scripture.
I like to use Protestant versions during Scripture study vs. the athorized versions just to see how various people have translated verses and words.
PS. There are Bibles from 5 books in the NT all the way up to 81 books total. I find all Bibles good if people just open and read them. (Yeah, OK, some are better then others!
)
I have put the New Testament onto my *iriver *mp3 player so I can listen to it anywhere and on the go. I like it especially when I work on my Mary garden. I also put on the rosary and other prayers too. It’s great for deep prayer and meditation.
I can highly recommend the iriver 512mb player too. It works great. Now if it just had an AM radio so I could listen to Rush, Hanity, O’Rely, and drudge I’d almost be in audio heaven!
