I would simply ask them to refrain from acting a fool during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
And acting a fool is what these people are doing:

Can I please have that 6 1/2 minutes of my life back now? That was one of the worst cases of sheer disorder and confusion I have ever seen, and St. Paul tells us where that comes from and it is not the Holy Spirit.
This is called being drunk in the spirit just like the apostles were at 9 in the morning
on Pentecost. People thought they were drunk.
That is completely wrong. There is no record anywhere in the Word of God of any such occurrence as is displayed here. Read 1st Corinthians 12-14 and see what St. Paul teaches them about this.
This gift of laughter is quite valid. St Philip Neri had it.
That would make it a private revelation and therefore faithful Catholics are cautioned that it may not be in conformity to church teaching.
I have read where some saints have actually floated up into the air while in raptured prayer. I would believe that might be from the Lord before I would accept that this pandemonium is.
St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare and their monks and nuns are reputed to have been enraptured by the Holy Spirit with the manifestation of tongues of fire and even fire displayed over the building that they were in so that the whole village rushed there to combat the blaze only to find them all lost in prayer and adoration. Yet you never see that happening to these people.
Read the passages I mentioned and all of you take your lead from St. Paul’s counsel
which we know is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Something that one might consider in the context of St. Paul’s comments in the passages I mentioned.
One such is, “
4 Now there are diversities of graces, but the same Spirit;
5 And there are diversities of ministries, but the same Lord;
6 And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all.
7**8 To one indeed, by the Spirit, is given the word of wisdom: and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;
9 To another, faith in the same spirit; to another, the grace of healing in one Spirit;
10 To another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the discerning of spirits; to another, diverse kinds of tongues; to another, interpretation of speeches. And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man unto profit.
11 But all these things one and the same Spirit worketh, dividing to every one according as he will.”
Does anything in that video fit this?
- The scripture you’re talking about where it says that people thought the apostles were drunk is irrefutably talking about the sort of “speaking in tongues” which simply means speaking in another valid, recognized language that people already know, without having been trained to do so. Acts Chapter 2. Read it. This was a miracle and the purpose for which was just the same as any other miracle ever done—to confirm that it was God who was at work. This was a way to confirm that these twelve apostles had God’s “seal of approval” as leaders of the new church and that it was Christ who was working through them. As the scene was creating quite a stir, a huge crowd formed and was amazed that these Twelve men were speaking in languages that they had not studied. These other languages they had spoken were not gibberish, but actual languages of nations that existed at the time. See verse 8.
- The apostles were NOT DRUNK IN THE SPIRIT. They were not drunk in anything. Peter specifically said they were not drunk in verse 15. There is absolutely no indication that the apostles lost control of their senses, spoke in “new” languages that no one had ever spoken before. None of that. Your claim is a complete fabrication.
- The gift of laughter is not a fruit of the spirit. Those fruits are, as listed by Paul in his letter to the Galatians,
- love (agape);
- joy (chara);
- peace (eirene);
- patience (makrothumia);
- kindness (chrestotes);
- goodness (agathosune);
- faithfulness (pistis);
- gentleness (prautes);
** * self-control (egkrateia).**
Hmm… I wonder why Paul lists self-control. Could this have anything to do with the fact that he tells the Church at Corinth not to act like a fool in Church, because people will think they are insane? Could be…
- The content of the video stands on its own.
- Laughter is a gift from God, apart from any particular moving of the Spirit, and I exercise that gift when I look at videos like the one I posted. I don’t think I would be laughing if you brought that mockery of God into my parish church, though…
I have to agree with Son on this. Very well put my friend.
Those of you who are charismatic Catholics, please don’t get me wrong. I know and understand every aspect of what you believe and practice, and in general have no problem with it, though, as I have said before, I no longer involve myself in Charismatic activities though I know that I still have the gifts that I had when I was active in that.
As St. Paul tells us, “
13] For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants of one another.” (Galatians 5)
