The child needs a name - yesterday preferably

My wife travels for business twice a year to China. On her first trip to Shanghai, a friend brought her to a favorite shop. The owners of the shop had recently had a baby. It is customary for many Chinese to take a Western name. They told my wife and her friend they had not given the baby a Western name yet and they asked my wife her opinion. She said “he looks like a Patrick.” The next time she went back, not only was the boy named Patrick, but they changed the name of the store to Patrick. They gave my wife a little gift to celebrate occasion.

Except that would be a a male spelling of a female name - Bronwen is the proper form 🙂

But tell your daughter that it is a good proper Welsh name, but my MIL got there first

Our daughter, Mared Concepta Nuala was actually baptised today, by my dad no less, and is legally registered so there are no backsies on her name
