Again, treating “the rapture” as a literary and plot device. There was no overt anti-Catholicism in the movie. That may have been for marketing reasons.
I have used the concept of “rapture” to explain the Assumption of Mary to non-Catholics — not that I accept a mass “rapture” of the faithful in the end times, but simply that Mary can be said to have been “raptured” body and soul into heaven.
