1.)It was presented by a student who hadn’t done his homework and instead wanted to push his own political agenda against FEMA.
2.) He claimed the Vatican did nothing to speak out against the Nazi party.
3.) He claims the Church did not excommunicate any major Nazi officials.
4.) He claims the Church helped Nazi officials and officers escape after WWII to other countries.

This is very typical of anti-Catholics. They come up with these outrageous accusations and then want **us **to prove them wrong.
Some sites have been given you that blow these accusations to pieces. However, have **him **back up his claims with facts and that they are indeed true instead of just blabbing worthless rhetoric.
If I’m not mistaken a lot of these lies are taken as fact due to a play that came in the 50’s or 60’s called “The Deputy” and many anti-Catholics have jumped into it with both feet and accept those accusations as gospel truth. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.
 
Just a note regarding Luther. Later in life, Martin Luther wrote a book titled “On Jews and Their Lies”. Luther did not hide his vehement hatred of the Jews. He wished to be rid of them. Sound like anyone in recent history?

Hitler admired Luther a great deal and went so far as to quote him on how to segregate them, take their valuables, etc. It actually scared me when I saw the ramifications of Luther’s rants against the Jews. It just goes to show that we should take care with what we say and write. It just could get into the hands of a madman one day and cost millions of lives.

Just do a search on Luther and Hitler and you’ll find a lot of info.

By 1943 it had become obvious that the Axis had lost the war.

The Pope’s attitude to this was that there was no longer any point in the fighting other than to buy time for the German regime. So he wanted an immediate ceasefire. His policy on achieving this was to keep communications open to the Nazis, which included giving the top leadership promises of personal safety.

In the event the policy failed and the Allies insisted on “unconditional surrender”. You can also argue that the policy was misconceived and it was the total nature of the German defeat that prevented a WWIII. Popes are not infallible when they turn their hand to diplomacy.

However it wasn’t an obviously wrong-headed plan.

		In February 1931, the German bishops excommunicated all active Nazi party members. Any who joined the Nazi party were under automatic excommunication.
To say that the Church did not excommunicate the Nazis is simply a lie.
