My little brother came home from school in tears today. Apparently he had some fight with a kid who goes to a Seventh-Day Adventist church, and the kid rattled him with the thought that the Catholic Church is dying because she’s the evil, and so people are leaving in droves, et cetera. Of course, I gave my brother the verses (Matthew 16, 28; Mark 16…) and he seemed cheered up a bit, but he’s at the age where kids are starting to reject Church-going and such. While I have no fear that he will join that group, I know he is worried about the thought of Catholic Churches emptied of people. Does anyone know of any articles that can give some hope to the situation?

Eloi The church isnt dying.Its growing.There are over 1 billion catholics.IN places like China theres a boom.Its geographical.Some places are seeing drops(ex:Ireland).

Show him this forum, and all the people on it!

Show him pictures on the internet from St Peter’s in Rome.

Show him the Right to Life Pictures on the Internet.

That’s us!

Then ask, what have the 7th Day Adventists done? Other than insisting that kohser laws be kept, and that we switch back to Saturday services, what social issue have they championed lately? It is all things to all people, but not in a good way.

The reality of God’s truth was obscured from the beginning of time until 1844 in New York? That stretches credulity.

it is merely a down point in Church History, a time of suffering but easily not the end. And even in times of persecution the Church has in the past flourished.

wordonfire.org/WOF-TV/Commentaries-New/Fr-Barron-comments-on-The-Last-Acceptable.aspx this link is to a video of a priest talking about the “last acceptable prejudice” or anti-Catholicism. It deals primarily with secular viewpoints but later he addresses the recent crises in the Church. He also has plenty of other videos about apologetic and other stuff.

Take him to Holy Saturday services and let him see people entering the Church.

What lovely things some Seventh Day Adventists are teaching their children. Doesn’t sound like the gospel message to me.🤷

People are choosing “Entertainment of the Self” over the Church’s rules for living. Entertainment is easier. But it is shallower, and it prevents people from reaching a Deeper meaning and existence in life.

I Tim 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times **some shall depart from the faith, **giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Children see churches closing as proof of declining membership.

Have your little brother ask the SDA if he believes that in the end times, people will leave the church to follow false teachings? Then have him ask the SDA if he believes we are in the last days. A declining church would be more of an argument for a true church then for a false one.

I go to 3 different churches, one in Mokena Illinois when visiting friends and family, one in NC, and one in SC. I always have to chuckle whenever someone says that Catholics don’t go to Mass or confession anymore. The churches I go to are packed and the confessional lines are considerable.
