Interested in any links covering it or scriptural references for a little study of prophesies of the Church in the Old Testament. Not necessaruly direct prophesies but examples of the way the Church was foreshadowed in the Old Testament.

Any ideas of where to start?

I hope someone can recommend some good book on this matter. If there isn’t, I hope someone will write one!

I know the Church Fathers reference to such foreshadowing of the Church in the Old Testament (especially f.ex. in reference to Noah’s Ark) but I’ve never seen a compilation of such references. I did find this website which seems to provide a good beginning point.

The last chapter of Isaiah speaks of it.

…and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Put, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations. And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the LORD, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, just as the Israelites bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD. And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the LORD.
"For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make
shall remain before me, says the LORD;
so shall your descendants and your name remain.
From new moon to new moon,
and from sabbath to sabbath,
all flesh shall come to worship before me,
says the LORD."

(Isaiah 66:19-23)

It was forshadowed on the Holy Mountain when Moses and 72 of the elders met with God.

they beheld God, and ate and drank. (Exodus 24:11)

That is what we do at Mass. We behold God, and we eat and drink.

There are many, many more. It would be an interesting topic for a book.
