The Cleansing of Purgatory
Purgatory is Heaven’s cleansing bath for the soul
Removing all our imperfections and making it whole
For all our attachments to sin must be gone totally
So that we may enter Heaven completely holy.
Our souls become damaged whenever we choose to sin,
Whether in committed acts or just in thoughts within.
Healing of this damage can occur while on Earth here
Or in Purgatory above both with God’s graces most dear.
In Purgatory, we can feel God’s infinite love burning
Our souls’ imperfections created through our sinning.
In Heaven this burning only everlasting joy brings
But in Purgatory each soul’s impurity feels painful burnings.
Purgatory exists out of God’s great and loving mercy
For in Heaven nothing the least impure can ever be,
And that we all can choose to join Him God desires
So allows us cleansing rather than going to Hell’s fires.
In Purgatory, a soul to be purified awaits loving graces,
Some granted in answer to prayers from many places,
Both from us here on Earth and from those in Heaven above,
Prayers requesting these graces and asked for with love.
Purgatory is the cleansing entrance to Heaven above,
Getting the soul ready for God’s infinite perfect love.
Praise God for Purgatory and His great loving mercy
And all people in Heaven someday hopefully we’ll see.
