At mass today the collection plate skipped me not once but twice. it was like i was invincible. When the second one pasted me i got annoyed and angey and I mumbled or hummed to myself **F them/B] and placed the money back in my pocket. i was not thinking when i said it. i was not thinking about the church or the trinity. i didn’t know if i was able to take holy communiun or not. i said sorry to God right away and i explained to him that i wasn’t thinking and i didn’t mean nothing against him or the church and promised i would place the money in the poor box on the way out after mass which i did. i made an act of contrition before holy communion and took holy communion.

do i have anything to worry about i was annoyed and abit angry and i wasn’t thinking. it was a spur of the moment thing**

Well, you need to work on your anger/impulse problems. But since you didn’t think about it first (lacked intent), it probably wasn’t mortal.

Were you in the first row or so? It is likely that the ushers didn’t see that you had money out and so didn’t pass the plate down your row. I know the plate skips my row, at times, because no one has an envelope or money clearly visible.

I overheard someone say s*** in the sacristy today I think because something they expected to be there wasn’t - Unfortunately profanity is prevalent in our society. In your case though, it was cursing (wishing ill on another) - bad habit to be in. I believe you are forgiven but I would mention it in your next Confession.

As one who sometimes serves as an usher, I try to be sensitive to whether someone is going to put money in the collection basket or not. I don’t want to skip anyone (because heaven knows the parish could use the money), nor do I want to embarrass anyone by holding the basket under their nose when they have nothing to put in. If you were skipped twice, there must have been something about where you were sitting or perhaps your demeanor that suggested that you were not going to put money in.

Finally, as one who appreciates and sometimes uses the occasional “salty” phrase, I wouldn’t dream of dropping the F-bomb in church. Sounds like the filter between your brain and your mouth could use a bit of servicing.

i’m not the kind of person that does this on a regular basis. infact i have never done this before. i just got annoyed because the guy that should of grabed the plate and pass it to me just drop his money and didn’t think that he should grab it and pass it to me. i was a little further away but not that far.

the person doing the collecting saw me hold money at least the scond time collection and he continued moving by. oh well i gave it to the poor box.
But i took holy communion straight after it happen. and i dont know if i did the right thing. i went to confession yesterday.but i know that was yesterday not today.

I guess you mean invisible and not invincible. Also what does “the second one pasted me” mean?

I would guess he meant to write ‘passed’.

In our church, the collection baskets are more often than not just waved ‘just in case’ near the benches, and not put under people’s noses or passed along the row, as more and more people give by Direct Debit and so don’t put anything in the basket.

OP, I really wouldn’t take it so personally. I don’t understand why you got so angry. The ushers would probably assume that if anyone was missed out, they would simply give double the following week or take it into the sacristy after Mass.

It’s happened to me, and believe me, I’m *very *difficult to overlook. Please don’t take it personally.

We all can be susceptible to intrusive, negative thoughts. We’re only human. It’s good that these types of reactions are not habitual for you, and that you recognized the sinful nature of your action and felt immediate contrition.
All that being said, if I were you, I’d go to confession before receiving communion again. Confess the whole incident and receive absolution, and you will have peace.
