Much speculation in the upcoming months leading up to Pope Benedict XVI visit to Fatima in May, 2011 are wondering if the Pope might consider Consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Nothing official from the Vatican about the Pope’s itinerary for security reasons shed light on his upcoming visit to Fatima.

Yes I know all is speculation up to this point. What are your (“charitable”) views concerning these issues?

Here’s an article that gives some perspective on what is necessary for true peace.

“How can we expect Mary’s triumph and world peace in an unchastened human society?”

Isn’t it hard to imagine any other way for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and peace, without a great deal of disasters and troubles first? to restore people to a sense of what is truly important, and morality.

People do not naturally tend towards moral reform without some sort of trouble waking them up to the necessity of it, no?

I do not know what is going to happen in May. But it’s not impossible that he might request the consecration, since there is after all nothing unreasonable in asking that it be done. But there are people who might not see it this way, as while it is not unreasonable, there are plenty of unreasonable people.

In Catholic prophecy Russia and its people figures in to more than just Fatima (see Dupont’s book), and in a negative way too, so that one would expect it being necessary to pray for its people for many reasons.

According to the late, great Sister Lucia, the consecration has been done.

I heard the same in the past alluding that Sister Lucia said the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary has already taken place.

There are numerous websites that lay false claim to this fact.

Many people believe that when the Walls of Berlin toppled on November 9th, 1989 that it signified peace in Communist Russia.

I don’t know how they attribute that to the Consecration of Russia.

The consecration has been completed fully, no part is left undone. That is my understanding.

Do you have unequivocal, viable evidence that supports your views?

Those who claim that the consecration was done nearly two decades ago must therefore explain how it has failed to produce the results the Mother of God promised. Has Our Lady failed? Or has the Vatican failed to respect Her wishes? These are questions millions of Catholics are still asking, despite decades of official maneuvers and manipulations aimed at evading the issue. Pope John Paul II has publicly declared that the Message of Fatima “imposes an obligation on the Church.” So far, the Church has failed to fulfill that obligation, and the whole world including the Church is suffering the consequences.

Centurionguard, here’s part of an article on the Apparition of Rianjo.

Food for thought: we’re getting close to the one hundred years later mark.

The Apparition at Rianjo (1931)
  • Code:
In August 1931, due to illness, Sister Lucy was staying with a friend at Rianjo, Spain, a small maritime city near Pontevedra, to rest and recover. It was in the chapel here that the Messenger of Fatima was once again given a communication from Heaven. Our Lord complained to Sister Lucy of the tardiness of His ministers who delay the Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as requested by Our Lady of Fatima on June 13, 1929 at Tuy, two years and two months earlier. Sister Lucy reported to her bishop the important revelation:*
My confessor ordered me to inform Your Excellency about what happened a little while ago, between our Good God and myself: As I was asking God for the conversion of Russia, Spain and Portugal, it seemed that His Divine Majesty said to me:

‘You console Me a great deal in asking Me for the conversion of those poor nations: Request it also of My Mother, while saying to Her often: Sweet Heart of Mary, be the salvation of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the whole world.

‘At other times say: By Thy Pure and Immaculate Conception, O Mary, obtain for me the conversion of Russia, Spain, Portugal, Europe and the whole world.

‘Make it known to My ministers, given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command, they will follow him into misfortune. It is never too late to have recourse to Jesus and Mary.’
    Code:
      In another text she wrote,
Later, through an intimate communication, Our Lord complained to me: ‘They did not wish to heed My request! … Like the King of France they will repent of it, and they will do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors in the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church. The Holy Father will have much to suffer.’
  • Code:
Our Lord was here making an explicit reference to the requests of the Sacred Heart given through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque on June 17, 1689 to the King of France. As a result of the refusal of King Louis XIV – as well as the refusal of both his son and grandson, King Louis XV and King Louis XVI – to publicly consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, as was requested by Heaven by means of a recognized French Saint of that time, the Protestant and Masonic Counter-Church successfully carried out the great upheaval of the French Revolution.

On June 17, 1789, (the Feast of the Sacred Heart) exactly one hundred years to the day from when Saint Margaret Mary had written down the great designs of Heaven for the King, the Third Estate rose up and proclaimed itself a National Assembly, stripping King Louis XVI of his legislative power. On January 21, 1793, France, ungrateful and rebellious to its God, dared to decapitate its most Christian King as if he were a criminal. At Rianjo, Jesus warns us that this dark chapter of history will repeat itself, and this time the ministers of His Church – the bishops, and perhaps even the Pope himself – will be among its hapless victims.*

Hello Shin;

Thank You for writing this entire article. I’m just quoting an observance in your first post.

In these past few days the entire world is reeling from the saddened events from the major earthquake effecting so many lives to the people of Japan and numerous people from many nations working in that country.

Last year the people of Haiti were devastated by another major earthquake.

This is so heart-wrenching to watch glued to your TV News Channel Screens.

Many people in this world will pass these scientific geological events as simple acts of earthly mother nature.

What people fail to see or plainly will not admit that these acts of mother nature are condoned by God who IS the source of mother nature.

Like Rain that falls on the Good and the Bad, many will fail to see these events as wake up calls to the entire world where God is asking the people of the entire world to change our ways.

How many natural events like these on a greater scale and intensity will it take to humbly wake people up to the existence of Almighty God?

Naturally; many will overtime overlook these events perhaps until its too late.

Am I just writing sensationalism here. :hmmm: Let those who have eyes truly see.

Thanks be to God from whom all blessings flow. I’m glad I found these articles, and for the people who helped me find them and wrote them. God loves to bless us through people. 😃

It’s good to remember Haiti.

I read recently that "The 8.9 magnitude earthquake is the most powerful to hit Japan in recorded history."

And too that, ""The powerful earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami Friday appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis."

Praying for Japan, and for us all… The lesson of Akita has not been learned, yes… Sigh! All God’s will…

‘In fact, my children, it is sin that brings upon us all calamities, all scourges, war, famine, pestilence, earthquakes, fires, frost, hail, storms, – all that afflicts us, all that makes us miserable.’

St. Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney, the Cure of Ars

The Consecration has already been made. Sister Lucia herself has stated it over and over again in interviews and personal letters. Only someone so ignorant will think otherwise. It just takes a bit of common sense:
Why would a humble nun who devoted her life to the message of Fatima; who from her younger days had the greatest priviledge and blessing in the world- to actually see and speak with the Holy Mother of God!- would lie about such a serious matter?

Yes, there are many websites that claim it didn’t happen. Nevertheless, they are utterly incorrect. They all claim ‘one bishop said this’ and ‘the pope said that’, but i ask:
Where did they get those quotes?
Are they from a reliable source?
Are they quoting in context?
And just as important, are the people and bishops they quote from secondary sources, in union with Rome?
Let me spare you time from reading such sites- most of what they say is false, and if there were any real quotes, they are most likely exaggerated to fit their point of view, aka their war against what they claim as errors from ‘Vatican II’.

In addition, they are making a conspiracy out of nothing, simply because they are sensationalists (especially those who say the Third Secret isn’t revealed). They are utterly disappointed because they expected a grand and instant change after the consecration (or referring to the 3rd secret, they were expecting something terrific that will excite them).
But the reality is that true conversion is something gradual, not forced upon.
And that’s their error of the matter: they treat the consecration as some sort of magic formula, that once said then BOOM Russia is totally converted.

The reality is that the consecration has already been made, and Russia is gradually converting. There is much evidence for that:
One obvious note, is that Churches are opened and accessible to the public.
Public schools have crucifixes and pictures of Our Lady, and they allow discussions of religious matters,
The government allows the building of more churches.
Gorbochev once went to Assisi, even requesting a rosary.

Communism in Europe is practically dead. Berlin Wall anyone? oh wait, it was torn down 🙂
And isn’t it beautiful to think that the wall was torn down AFTER the consecration was made?

And for my personal opinion on a recent event- authorities in Russia arrested a punk band that broke into a church to protest. Now imagine if the Consecration didn’t happen, would you think the authorities would have cared if the band did that? Especially when the authorities were shutting down Churches in the first place?

My point is that the conversion of Russia is a gradual one, because it’s a grace rendered by God and handed over to them by the Blessed Mother. Grace can only be recieved if the person or nation accepts it entirely. And by the looks of it, coversion has already begun, but its not complete yet.

🍿 :compcoff:

This never gets old, does it?

I believe the consecration has taken place, even if “official statements” have been less than explicit (at least in the eyes of some…)

Actually, there’s quite a good explanation for the Church’s circumspection in talking about this issue; but one must look with the eyes of charity to find it. 😉

Pope John Paul II has publicly declared that the Message of Fatima “imposes an obligation on the Church.” So far, the Church has failed to fulfill that obligation, and the whole world including the Church is suffering the consequences.
I have no idea about whether it was done or not, but what I’ve always found interesting about the whole thing is how these days, there seems to be an emphasis on saying that private revelation may be good, but it is private revelation.

Why would a Pope declare that a private revelation imposes an obligation on the Church?

The Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary already happened in 1984. Sister Lucia confirmed this fact.

There have been many Fatima-consonant consecrations made by the Chair of Peter, from Pius XII to John Paul II. So why not another? Please God, we need another, fuller, consecration of Russia–not the world–to the Immaculate Heart of Mary led by Peter, in union with all bishops in their respective cathedrals in one solemn, simultaneous, public occasion exactly as requested by Our Lady as related in Sr. Lucia’s memoir, Fatima in Lucia’s Own Words. There is no argument for refusing another consecration when there have already been multiple, and arguably imperfect, consecrations. If there was no world-wide consecration one could take part in at one’s cathedral, there was no consecration as requested. Why would be hesitate to do another in any case?

Dearest brothers and sisters, this consecration of Russia was called the “only means to a period of peace.” “Only” means sole, exclusive. This collegial consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart is the single way to a period of peace, not political, military or economic might that entices egomaniacal humans. “Only” in obedience to God’s will to exalt the Immaculate Heart through effecting this miracle of her conversion of Russia–upon the invitation by the Church–will there be peace.

We may, as sheep, bleat for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart as requested in 1929. This was right before Stalin was started his genocide in the Ukraine. We may mourn the surety of destruction as reminded of by Christ appearing to Sr. Lucia. In this apparition, Christ urged His ministers to remember they will surely suffer the same fate as the King of France. Three successive kings failed to dedicate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. After 100 years, the then-reigning king was deposed. This was 100 years to the day his grandfather was informed by Margaret Mary Alacoque of the request to make the Sacred Heart the shield of France. Louis XVI’s will was stuffed into a crack in his cell wall. In it, he promised to do what was left undone regarding the Sacred Heart as he awaited his beheading.
