As you know, Richard had an industrial accident that nearly broke his neck (he ended up with 2 cracked discs in his neck that kept him off work for almost a year) in September 2003. After lots of letter writing and stuff, it is finally coming to a court-case to reach a settlement for ‘damages’ tomorrow at 10.00 am GMT in Taunton Crown Court. We spent a whole year without wages, using up virtually all our savings, at a time when I was very sick after Maria’s traumatic birth (I took 8 months and 2 operations to my womb and ‘nether regions’ to heal). We’re trying to re-coup at least the lost salary for that year, and some damages on top. After all, it could have easily killed Richard, and it did end his career as a truck-driver…which financially was a big blow, as no job after ‘Langdons’ has even come close to what he earnt back then…

So, could I ask you all to pray for us that God’s Will will be done and that the judge will rule favourably on our case. Thank you!

Anna, I will say a special prayer for a positive, fair outcome for you. I, too, have been effected by a negligent employer, but won’t be able to sue because I cannot prove my injuries- moderate to severe occasional chest pain after an extended electric shock, plus they provided false information to OSHA when I reported the incident and requested an investigation. If they provide false information when it does not effect them financially, you know they’ll come up with something in a court case.

Praying…
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen

Thankfully we have the evidence on our side and the company did admit liability immediately. The main issue is ‘did Richard or did he not heal 100% and did he have to quit his job as a truck-driver due to the injury or was it his choice’…But even so, their lawyers did try to wriggle out of as much as possible…so I know only too well what you mean:rolleyes: !
