The Creation/Evolution Debate in a Nutshell

I’m always puzzled the way creationists seem to have such a low regard for faith as to turn it into a perjorative (i.e. “those lousy scientists, it’s a religion, I tell you!”)

Faith is a good thing. It just doesn’t work for science. Creationism and Christianity just don’t fit; you have to make too many compromises in both.

This is sophistry - to masquerade variation within species (= micro-evolution) above as though it were macro-evolution across species, in a Catholic forum where the average reader is not a biologist and unaware of the distinction. Shame on your deception!
All your examples represent loss of function which has benefit only in a specific environment. Were ‘evolution’ by losses of natural function to continue in this way, the species would become not improved, but extinct. Beneficial changes in a species can only come from activating latent code already in the genome.
btw: how does the general definition of species apply to bacteria?

Mutation is not just a loss of function. Nucleic acids don’t just pop out of the code. Substitutions and insertions occurr aswell - from spare nucleic acids that exist in cytoplasm. This is how geneticists theorize abot how new genetic material can be “created out of nothing”

We learnt this in the last year of highschool.
