Are you looking for an Eastern Catholic perspective on this?

(just trying to figure out why this is posted in the Eastern Catholic forum)

Better Catholic than Reformed.

Although if you ask my non-Catholic opinion they should tear it down and build something a bit more traditional.😉

The sale of the Crystal Cathedral to the Diocese of Orange (in California) was expected to be finalized on Dec. 30th. I haven’t seen any news reports confirming that the papers were signed, but there seemed to be no obstacles to the sale.

The terms of the sale were fluctuating during the final two weeks, but the last I heard the current tenants had up to three years to vacate. However, the annual lease they would have to pay would increase over time. When they decide that the cost is not worth the benefit of staying put remains to be seen. So an exact date for the Diocese of Orange to assume control of the Crystal Cathedral is still up in the air.

However, like Mark, I wonder why you posted in the Eastern Catholicism section since this topic seems to have little to do with Eastern Catholics.

Since this post is still here, I would like to make a few bits of info.

I heard move-in time will be in 3 yrs. I also heard Rev. Schuler and even the Crystal Cathedral board of directors wanted the Catholic Church to obtain it. Otherwise, it may have gone to Chapman College.
I am proud of them, and proud of the fact that the Church has it!🙂

Nah, it just needs an onion dome and an iconostasis 👍😉

Note from Moderator:

If a thread might belong somewhere else, people comment in the thread, and I’m not told, the thread doesn’t get moved. If I then see that it needs to be moved, it looks funny to read the thread in Apologetics asking throughout if it should belong elsewhere when the elsewhere is really where it is. It can be very confusing.

**The best policy is to respond to the topic of the thread if you want to, and to write me a private note explaining why you think that topic belongs on another board. **You can reach me through a PM or by clicking the red triangle in the upper right of a post.

The original poster is welcome too start a new thread in Catholic News. This thread is now closed.

May God Bless You Abundantly,
Catherine Grant
