Something cute I’d like to share.

Often, I have the divine mercy chaplet (in song) playing in my car. The other day my 2 year old who just turned 2 in November sings,“have mercy on us and on the whole world.” Of course, as a proud mom I smiled from ear to ear. 😃 I immediately thought about how this must have made Jesus so happy!! I am sure he’d rather hear her sing it then me because I am sure I hurt his ears when I sing.

Any cute things your 2 year olds have done?

One time while trying to explain to my daughter (she was old at birth, the first of 5) that God has no body, that He is a spiritual being, she answered while searching the sky outside the car, “What? You mean He’s just a big head floatin’ out there?” It took a few more years before she understood!

Another time, she was older, about 3 years old when the Northridge earthquake hit I was trying to get laundry done. I had not been able to do the laundry because I couldn’t get down the stairs into the carport where the facilities were and watch a toddler and a one year old. My daughter would freak if I even left the room because the monster (the earthquake) would get her. Finally, I explained how God would protect her and keep her safe while mommy went down the stairs. The whole process would only take me 3 minutes, but she wouldn’t hear of it. I decided to take the chance, explain one more time, reassuring her that God is watching over her and protecting her and I left for the stairs. Well, she freaked like only a 3 year old could (I was surprised that the police didn’t respond because she was sooo loud!).

I came running back up the stairs, laundry everywhere… and asked her why she was so distressed. “Trust in God”, I kept saying. Her answer, “well, if God is so willing to help, why doesn’t HE do your laundry?”

I’m telling you, she was born with a top hat! 😛

My DS (now 7) as a toddler would take a book, hold it over his head, walk around and sing Alleluia. I told our priest about it and he replied how even the little children know how important the liturgy is. I thought for sure my DS was receiving his “call”!

When my 2 1/2 year old is having one of her sweet moments she’ll say “I love you so bad mommy, your my best friend ever”. Of course I just melt!

Many years ago when I was pregnant with my second child, my two and a half year old son threw his arms around my tummy and said, “MOm, you look like a queen and you have arms like big, fluffy cushions.” It was said with a great deal of love.

My oldest went through a period in which he was very, very concerned with how his older brother would get out of me. I explained over and over that I would go to the hospital and the Dr. would help his brother be born. I cracked my Dr. up, when I informed him that my son wanted to know if a giant can opener was going to be used on me.

My son is 16 years old now. That is so hard for me to believe.

When my nephew was two he was “Reading” his children’s Bible to my sister. When he got to the picture pages where Moses and the Israelites were crossing the Red Sea while being pursued by the Egyptians, he told my sister that Moses and his buddies took their surfboards out for a ride and some other guys chased them because they didn’t like the music they were playing.

Last night I had a dream that my 13-month-old did this! It seemed like the whole night long I was singing the Divine Mercy Chaplet in Song to my baby, and then at the end of the dream he suddenly sang along to “Holy Immortal One” 🙂 But that’s just my dream. It was great reading your story though, because I can relate to that happy feeling in your heart.

Your 13 month old will soon be singing it for real!! 😃

My 2yo (for all her devilish behavior) will sing "Gory to Dod in da highest, sing gory to Dod…and peace to his people on errrrt’ when she rocks her dollies to sleep…it’s really cute!!

A little older than 2, but at our family Cenacle one of the little boys led an entire decade with “Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with me…”

My 2 and half year old did something so cute yesterday that I just had to resurrect this thread to share it!

We were at Mass yesterday morning, and during the consecration I was quietly telling him to pay attention to the priest holding Jesus (or, “Body of Christ-es”, as he calls the hosts, b/c of what the minister says when giving Communion). He whispered, “Is Fader making Body of Christ-es?”
“Yes, honey. Do you want to be a priest when you grow up, and make “Body of Christ-es” just like Father?”
His eyes opened wide, and he said, “Yes, Mama, I want to make Body of Christ-es.”

My heart melted, and my soul was singing Thanks be to God for making this little soul and giving him to us! ❤️ ❤️

He’s still learning that “Jesus” and the “Body of Christ-es” (the Host) is the same person. 🙂 He’s simply amazed by that fact.

My 3 year old sister was told she could not have any more candy from the basket. She insisted, so my mom sent her to her room where she cried for some time. 10 minutes later Mom went to check on her, and found her eating MORE candy in her room!
“Where did you get that!?!” exclaimed Mom.
“My guardian angel gave it to me,” was the calm reply.
Fighting back a laugh, the candy was again taken away.

Oh, I didn’t know there was already a thread for this, I think I started one in Feb on the Parenting board.

My 2 year old loves to sing at church and sometimes she likes to sing very loud. Her favorite is to sing Alleluia but she doesn’t stop when everyone else does.

She also will squeeze her eyes shut really tight and fold her hands and put her head down and say “praying” in a quiet voice like she’s concentrating really hard Then she will open her eyes and say “AMEN”

When we go up for communion, she always gives Fr Dave the wierdest little grin like she’s done something REALLY rotten. It always cracks him up. She used to give him a beautiful little smile.

My dad watched her yesterday because she was supposedly too sick to be at daycare. She was really riled up when I picked her up. She loves her pa-pa. When I walked in, she was standing on one of the kitchen chairs yelling “SARAH???” (my mom’s name) When she saw me she yelled “JENNY???” I was sort of shocked that she knew my name! 😃 She loves to call for people.

Well, I’m on a roll now, and that last one reminded me of something she did a few months ago. We had just moved her to her big girl bed and getting her to lay down for her noon nap was not too easy. She got out of bed and stood at the door yelling for us “Mommy?” “Daddy?” then quietly and with a very questionable tone she called “Kitty?”

My son’s not 2 but, 4. He does the cutest thing. After mass when we go home, he’ll take his sippy cup and act out communion. He’ll offer the cup to his brother for a sip and the pull it away and wipe it. It’s funny cause the first time he wiped it with a sock. I had to laugh. He just kinda picked it up.
