I wanted to post this on the Philosophy subforum, since this is where I and most of the folks I know here hang out.

The past several months have been most enjoyable, and I have met many wonderful people here. (I don’t want to start listing names, since I am sure to miss someone; also, I’ll get all misty.) This time has also been instrumental, more so than you might think, in my decision to enter the CC. However, it is at this point taking too much computer time, and I have to finish the second half of this dissertation. (It’s on Thomas Aquinas, surprise surprise.) I’ve been delaying further work for too long.

So I’m going to disappear for a while. I’ll still be reading in occasionally, and I hope you all are still here when I make it back. May God’s best be yours always. Love and sincere regards, cpayne

You’ll be missed. I hope you slam dunk the dissertation. 👍

God bless,
Ut

knock it out of the park, brother - i would always click on threads to which i’d seen that you had replied…i hope i’ll be able to start doing that again soon.

EDIT: if you feel like sharing, i’d love to know what your thesis is…

cpayne, the best of luck on your dissertation! I haven’t had much direct interaction with you (I’m pretty new), but I always enjoy reading your thoughts on Thomistic philosophy. I’m sure you’re going to write an impressive paper.

Blessings

If you’re half done, you should be very proud of yourself (but not stop). I was told at one point that something like 90% of the people who never complete their dissertations never write a single line (I may be remembering this wrong–remember, 76.5% of all statistics are made up:D). In other words, once you get going on the actual writing, you have a very good chance of finishing.

Mr. Payne, may the force be with you.
