Every single day, I pray the Divine Mercy. And then, I saw it in a website that the Divine Mercy is done only for one intention – does it mean only for one purpose and one person? unlike the Holy Rosary in which we can have several intentions prayed for and on behalf of several people.

@(name removed by moderator) I totally forgot the domain name of the site but it was some Catholic prayers related stuff and so on. I think it was a “blog” (?) - the author sharing experiences of her prayers. She was also answering questions and one was a query posted by someone about the Divine Mercy. And from that, I saw it. Only one intention.

I don’t know what website you read, but that’s balderdash.

You may add as many intentions as you like to it, although it is customary to say it for one or more dying persons and/or one or more Holy Souls in Purgatory.

The only time I have ever seen a prayer limited to one intention is when you have Gregorian Masses said - they can only be for one deceased person.

One last question. In here (I mean the link that you’ve so kindly provided), they talk about praying for those who are about to die, or the already deceased. Isn’t the Divine Mercy for the living ones as well? Correct me, if I’m wrong, please.🙏

Private prayers and devotions outside of the Mass are occasions for the person to commune with God and their heavenly family as they please. There are no restrictions in making any intentions.

Yes. Jesus said to st Faustina that one of the prayers in the chaplet gives the grace of conversion so I like using that intention at times.

And it’s also one of the promises that anything asked for Thats in Gods will will be obtained
