Has anyone read The Dolores Passion Of Our Lord by St Anne Catherine Emmerich ? I’d be curious to hear some opinions. I think it’s excellent reading material for meditating on the passion of Christ.

Yes; I found the Dolorous Passion very tough reading and not to be taken lightly. But at the same time I found it reinvigorated my Lenten practice.

Fortunately the Dolores Passion Of Our Lord is easy enough to find online, but I haven’t been able to find a link to St Bridget of Sweden’s vision of the Crucifixion yet.

Yes, the Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ by Blessed Anne Katherine Emmerich is an excellent book by one of the most important mystics of recent centuries. An ideal devotional work for Lent.

I particularly like the powerful imagery of the work. It is easy to see many parts of the work forseeing the decadence the Church has fallen into in the last few decades. Very moving.

I’m reading it right now on my Palm and I find it very good so far. The things she endured - wow.

It is an outstanding book…a must read for anyone who has not read it yet. I am going read it again after I finish Seven Story Mountain. It can be complex at times and very graphic…however, when I read it, I could visualize everything as it happened. I highly recommend this book.

Very good reading…it is a bit difficult with the style of writing from that period and points often seem redundant but overall it is a inspiring book. I am reading it to my 85 year old mother right now.
