Any classic rock fans, in the song “jesus is just alright with me” is he saying this in a positive way or negative. He keeps saying they. “I dont care what they may say. I dont care what they may do.” Who is they? Just alright seems like it could me he’s just fine with me or just alright nothing more.

“Jesus is Just All Right With Me” is a gospel song that was written and originally recorded by Art Reynolds and his gospel group.

The song was written in the 60s. “All right!” was an African-American expression at the time, that meant awesome, excellent, really cool, etc. It is safe to say that the songwriter was a big fan of Jesus and meant the song as a form of praise.

The Doobie Brothers and the Byrds covered the song later.

My favourite Doobie brothers song was ‘what a fool believes.’
NB: nothing to do with religion! 🙂
