When one prayerful reads the Gospels, one principle that jumps out is, the Gospel is the power of God to save.
The first commandments are to love God, self and neighbor. It is God’s love poured into our hearts that empowers us to be able to love God, self and neighbor.
It is this power the enables us to grow our families.
The beauty of God then comes shining through in chastity, sobriety, patience, kindness, generalist, faithfulness, joy, peace, meekness, forgiveness, and the happiness of the beatitudes.
As St. Paul explains: the Gospel is the power of God to save us.
It is the Gospel that empowers us to keep Torah or the Law or the Sabbath.
