…You know in the Glory be, it says

Glory be to the Father & to the Son & to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

What does ‘World without end’ mean? This world? The world to come? As what was in the beginning? The world without end?

Please help!!
🙂

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto.
Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper,
et in saecula saeculorum.

The literal meaning of the latter part is:
Just as it was in the beginning, and now, and always,
and in ages of ages.
the *“in saecula saeculorum” *part is a Latin idiom to mean “forever”.

I don’t know how “official” the “world without end” version is? (Even though it is the one that everyone “knows”) For instance, the *Gloria Patri *as presented in the English Liturgy of the Hours ends with “…as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.”
