I became acquainted with John sometime in December, 2006 via the internet when he posted a comment on A Pilgrim’s Reveries blog. He’s an American guy living in Chicago, a writer in his own right, a renewed Catholic and 12 years my senior. Upon my inquiry he told me that he had been receiving my bible sharing via his email since February, 2001 from a mutual friend of ours who forwarded to him my articles.
I would like to share excerpts on the exchanges of messages that we have had, to illustrate how the initial fraternal correction that he gave me resulted in him becoming my mentor, editor, counselor and spiritual director. Our communications ceased altogether sometime in 2008 when I needed to temporarily stop writing on my blog because I was in the middle of a domestic crisis.
