What assistance does the Church provide for victims of violence?

Google Catholic Services for Crime victims and you will find a host of sites providing information on services.

Wow, that’s embarrassing. That’s victim of violence by clergy or Church staff…and what do they say but to seek help elsewhere and you can file a complaint and talk to the Bishop…if ever the Bishop had time he will find out what needs the family has…I am afraid to ask if anyone ever received asssitance through the Church for such violence. God have mercy.

You are not actually quoting so maybe you missed some of it “the bishop or his representative and to obtain support for the needs of the individual and families”.

No, I did not miss it…Bishop or his representiative…I am still afraid to ask if anyone or even worse…how many people actually received assistance through the Catholic Church for such violence. God have mercy.

Is that what your question was about or is there something different you need help with?

OK, but you in that post: “if ever the Bishop had time”, so it looked like you missed it.

Or a representative of the Bishop is just the same meaning…the rep if not the Bishop is said to assist. Have you ever tried to get assistance from a Bishop or his representative? The clarification does not change my comment.

OK, but I would not have known that from your comment, so thank you for amplifying. And yes, I have easily spoken with a representative of the bishop.

Great, then you should have no problem to speak to a Bishop or his representative to get help on behalf of a family victim of domestic violence and discriminated for their faith in court who needs help. Please let me know how it goes. …Because I sure have not been able to.

I can see you have a lot of frustration. I am praying for you.

Are you saying that you are not going to speak to a Bishop or Bishop representative then? See, if even you who can get their attention won’t…then my statement stands as accurate. I appreciate prayers and will pray for you too.

"The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40

I am sure this is an issue in all countries but I was specificly referring to the USA.

In the US, Catholic Charities at your Diocese is the place to begin. Some larger parishes may have a person on staff who acts as a sort of satellite for the Catholic Charities.
