In 2002 I was near death with a terrible inherited illness, and I have told how
I was prayed for by Roman Catholic believers who were “charismatic renewal” members, and also by Protestants. In those days I was VERY thankful to all who prayed for me and wanted so bad to be able to pray for others. And after my healing began I seemed to be close to God when in prayer, where I asked that my prayers for the healing of others would please be answered.

I prayed for a young toddler to start with and in time he got better, and then I prayed
for a lady’s grown daughter who was even more near death than I had been.
She told me that she had prayed for daughter, but she did not improve but
only grew worse, and I sent her my prayers for her daughter. She then tested me
by asking if she should pray again as she was taught by praying to the saints or
by praying as I did. I didn’t know then that Catholics prayed to the saints, and
assumed that all Christians prayed as I did, but just to be sure I prayed and
the answer was clear and that was I was told to forbid no one from praying
to the saints. Whew, I was glad that I had prayed first.

So I told her that in my opinion she should pray as she was taught and I would also
pray as I was taught and perhaps her daughter would be healed. It didn’t happen
overnight but after daily prayers for about two years the total healing came.
It was worth it.

I still pray for others, but the several answered healing prayers ended, I think, about
five years after my own illness about the time I got my own total healing.

Thanks above to all the answered prayers!!!

Thank God for your healing, and for all the prayers of the Faithful, Catholic and Protestant alike.
Indeed, they were united, just as Christ called them to be in the Gospel.

I thought of this passage when I read your thread…

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

John 17: 20-23

Continue to pray for people, and Glorify God in all His works, visible, and invisible.

Thank you to both of you for replying and also to any who reply in the future.

I was named after my great-uncle, who was a Roman Catholic, and his name was John.
He was married to my great-aunt who was a Protestant and her name was Ruth.
They were both wonderful people of faith that I hope to be with again one day in
Heaven.

I pray for continued good health for all of you here, speaking both physically and
spiritually. May God bless you all.
