"Amen, amen, I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.
He that eatheth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath everlasting life : and I will raise him up in the last day.
For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed
St John Chap 6 54-56

The meaning of the word AMEN used twice

It was like an oath, - Jesus saying Amen, amen - means that what he was about to say was TRUE.

Can you break this down a bit more? I’m wondering what Amen means here and why twice equals an oath or to say this is literal. Also what version of the bible is this from?

Amen means “certainly”, or “verily”. It means “it’s true”. Saying it twice is just a double emphasis, like saying “it’s very, very true”. Jesus is saying, “do NOT doubt what I’m about to say!”
