The Holy Spirit in Sacred Tradition

A thought occurred to me the other day that since Sacred Scriptures (the Bible, the Word of God) are inspired by God and guided by the Holy Spirit, and since Sacred Tradition is “equal” in a sense to Sacred Scripture, then it seems to me that the Holy Spirit would guide Sacred Tradition throughout the centuries in the Catholic Church.

So I thought it would be interesting to have a discussion concerning the movement of the Holy Spirit in Sacred Tradition within the context of the Traditional Latin Mass. Any thoughts?

St Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians would be a good place to start.
The Church in Corinth seems to have been what we would call charismatic. Though enthusiasm is far better than indifference, there are still many dangers, some of which St Paul mentions.

Well I’m not really concerned with the charismatic movement.

Suppose we stated that anything the Church considers “Sacred Tradition” (with a capital T) is guided by the Holy Spirit. (And of course there would be no question about it).

Then suppose we said that anything considered “tradition” or “traditional” may or may not be guided by the Holy Spirit.

What then? How does one discern what is guided by the Holy Spirit, and what is not? I would say that any T/tradition that leads someone to Christ or helps with spirituality is supportable, trustworthy, and true.
