. She has an immaculate heart because of these things. The Immaculate Heart is in no way competing with the Sacred Heart or is meant to be taken on a level with the Sacred Heart, because the Immaculate Heart is not about Redemption. The Sacred Heart represents God’s love, and the Immaculate Heart represents purity, .
If Mary has an immaculate heart, and Christ has the Sacred Heart … what type hearts do the Rebirthed Catholic elect have ?

One way I understand the imagery of ‘light’ on people who are not God is by using the example of candles.

Candles are not light hemselves but they can be made to burn light.
It is in this way the not just our Blessed Mother, but all christians are expected to shine that light from their heart.
Jesus said “49 I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled!” Luke 12.

God bless

In truth, if an artist were to depict ANY Christian, they could rightly express sunrays emanating from our hearts with this great truth in mind.

.
Well said 🙂 Some shine brighter than others. Mary’s probably the brightest, Peter/Paul/John/James … nearly as bright.

Peace be with you all!

I have a very good web site for Marian questions. It is called the Mary Page from the University of Dayton. It has answers for almost every question you can think of concerning Mary, her life and her role in the salvific plan. It can answer many of the questions posed here and may give budgie2 some concrete answers. Developing theology on our own is the surest way to go to hell.

I hope this is of some help.

God Bless!

Please explain this to me further. I would like to know how a person who is venerated as a saint , St. Anne, Mary’s mother, was able to have Mary be born without the stain of original sin? I was taught by my mother that St. Anne, Mary’s mother, was born without the stain of original sin. How can a holy being come from someone who sins??
Indeed, how was St. Anne conceived without Original Sin if St. Anne’s mother was conceived with original sin? St. Anne’s mother must have been conceived without Original Sin. And how was St. Anne’s grandmother conceived without original sin if St. Anne’s great grandmother was conceived with Original Sin? Why not have a line of women conceived without Original Sin going back to Eve or something like that. And indeed how was Mary conceived without Original Sin if Mary’s father had original sin as Mary had both biological father and mother. I only accept one immaculate conception which is that of Christ. God can intervene in anybody’s conception.

Then you reject dogmatic teaching of the Catholic Church. Why would you do that publicly?
Jesus’ conception is the Incarnation, not the Immaculate Conception.
God can intervene in anybody’s conception.
And the only two we are sure of is Mary’s and Jesus’.

Uh, the power of God?
I only accept one immaculate conception which is that of Christ. God can intervene in anybody’s conception.
Ineffabilis Deus
Apostolic Constitution of Pope Pius IX on the Immaculate Conception (December 8, 1854)

We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful.
And just for fun, I’ll quote myself where I showed references to Church teaching, post #111 of this thread.
Just look at Canon law 751, 1364, and in the Catechism, 2089.

I fear that you’ll say I don’t like you, as you’ve said to another poster in another thread. It’s not a matter of liking you or not liking you; I don’t know you. But if I truly didn’t like you, I probably wouldn’t even bother looking this stuff up.

My mum has a picture of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a common religious representation. I have been doing some research on the nature of God and light and I really believe that the shining heart represents the love of the Father in the Son as Timothy says that God is light: “God the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in approachable light, whom no one has seen or can see.” 1 Timothy 6:15-16
God (the Father) could be described as a shining presence of love, or shining essence of love as there is a certain light aspect to God. I believe the shining heart of Christ represents divine love and could be used on its own as a symbol of God the Father. Christ resembles Mary in the physical aspect of his body however, the Sacred Heart is an aspect of Christ which resembles the Father. Any comments.
You speak much heresy. I have been reading all post and this by far is quite upsetting to those who are Catholic. You claim to be Catholic and yet you deny a lot of Catholic teaching. Does the Magisterium mean anything to you??

The OP’s objection to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was, at the beginning of this thead, based upon an artistic expression. I wanted to respond to **the concern about the “sunrays” emanating from Mary’s Immaculate heart. ** According to the OP’s interpretation, this means she is being depicted as divine or a goddess. Yet, scripture tells us of a profound mystery and I believe that is what the artistic expression is trying to get across. The mystery is this: CHRIST IS IN YOU, the Hope of Glory (Col 1:27). In truth, if an artist were to depict ANY Christian, they could rightly express sunrays emanating from our hearts with this great truth in mind.
“Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5,16

For all of you are children of the light and children of the day.
1 Thessalonians 5, 5

For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness, " is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4, 6

  • Arise, shine, for your light has dawned;
The presence of the Lord has shone upon you!
Behold, darkness has covered the earth,
    And thick clouds the peoples;
But upon you the Lord will shine,
and his presence be seen over you
    .
And nations shall walk by your light,
    Kings by your shining radiance.*
    Isaiah 60, 1-3
