You should be ok with that book. Typically what you want to look for on the cover, or inside cover, or copyright page for:
Imprimatur - This is a license issued by the church that declares the work to be free from doctrinal errors. This is really what you should look for.
Another good thing to look for is:
Nihil Obstat - This just means that there is nothing harmful to faith or morals in the book. This doesn’t necessarily mean it agrees with Catholic doctrine. That there is just nothing in there to damage faith or morals.
I believe the International Bible Commentary does have both an Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat declaration in it.
I would hope the publishing company would never lie about an Imprimatur, but you always want to double check if you see anything suspicious.
