The joy of a Catholic and an other issue

Good afternoon.
Is a sin to read books in which there are violent scenes, or listen to music in which there are not so good things, if they don’t lead me to emulation and so to something against the law of God?
And also, is good that a Catholic is very happy for something like honest feasts, travels…, if he doesn’t reduce his love toward God and the neighbors?
