Alot has happened since 9/11, like New Orleans flood, the big tidal wave, earth quakes, and other disasters, and also the economy is broken.

Spirituality seems to be much less in the world than it was some decades ago, and it seems that Christ’s return maybe dependant on how bad things get, and that the World will no longer be under Man’s self rule.

It seems like it will take much Prayer in the form of Group, and individual prayers, to heal the wounds in the world.

  1. In your Religious life, where does the topic of the Book of Revelation and the Last Days fit in?
  2. Do you think that we are now since 9/11 at the last days?
  3. Can we fix things like the Economy, by lots of earnest prayer?
  4. Should we be preparing for the end times, as if Jesus will be returning tomorrow?

As an LDS person, I have studied the Last Days since the 1970’s, and I have known in my heart about the difficulties of the economy in the USA for the past 8 years or so, and I knew that this would happen, but I did not know that it would happen this quickly.

I hope and I pray that we can be able to come out of these financial troubles.

Hmm… I do find the end times interesting and I will admit that sometimes I wonder if events today are an indication of Christ’s imminent return.

Then again, WWII, Nazi Germany, communism, the great depression, the bubonic plague, the Arian heresy, the persecution of the early Christians… all of these were arguably worse than events and institutions we are facing today. If Christ’s return is dependent on how bad things get, then perhaps we have nothing to fear for right now.

Scripture tells us that we don’t know the day nor the hour and it will come like a thief in the night. While I do wonder and have some “feelings” about the signs of the times, and of course their is nothing wrong with thinking about the end times, we shouldn’t focus on them. Rather, we should put our faith in the grace of God, particularly the sacramental graces available through the Church, and in striving to cooperate fully with that grace so that Christ may find us prepared.

Let us be sober and awake and may our Master find us prepared for His return, whenever that may be.

Jesus (p) will come to kill the
anti- Christ (p) & establish peace. Yes , sometimes it looks like end time is near. It will be wonderful to welcome Jesus (p) in my lifetime 🙂

You don’t have to wait for the end time to welcome Jesus. Right now he is inviting you to welcome Him through the Holy Mass. Through it we would be prepared for the brightness of his glorious coming.

Geo,

I agree with some of what you say. Much has happened since 9/11 and much has happened since 33 Anno Domini.
The economy isn’t broken. I have worthless Confederate currency you can have. That economy is broken. Remember the former U.S.S.R? Our economy and the global economy is bending downward in its cycle. Economics is cyclical. Too many peoples (myself included) and institutions worldwide have been on a big spending spree with money they don’t have. It’s been going on since climbing out of the valley of the last deeper recession (so far) of the early 1980’s, not just for the last 8 years. It’s time we pay the piper! Unfortunately, many good people will be put through many struggles and hardships. I will keep them in my prayers!

Spirituality does seem to be different than 10 years ago, I had a very different one as compared to today. Yes, prayers help!

The End Times: depends on who you want to listen to. I have several former high school classmates that got married our junior year because the time was coming soon. They were paired by their elders  . I think out of 8 couples, 7 were divorced before we graduated. Much worse has happened than that elsewhere in the states and in the world because of those teachings. If the parousia comes in my lifetime, it’s God’s will be done.

The Book of Revelation: it used to scare me because of what many self interpreters claimed it meant. Since then, learning what the Early Church Fathers taught and very knowledgeable Catholic and Protestant theologians teach I try to only concern myself with things that I have the power to change for the better. If your faith allows you to, I suggest you read The Lamb’s Supper by Dr. Scott Hahn. It will give you a different perspective on Revelations.

Some folks want to talk about the glass: is it half empty or half full? I say if your thirsty, drink up and get some more or save it until you are thirsty.

With all sincerity in my heart I am praying for those most touched by the struggling economy and I pray that I am able to do more than pray, if it be God’s will.

Peace, Graubo

Muslim Woman,

Not all faith is contained in a book as you well know about the Catholic religion. Are Catholics not considered by Muslims as the worshippers of the cross and the non-Catholics as the worshippers of the book? Please correct me if I am wrong.

The Mass will help you in truthfully learning Jesus. I would not go to a beer garden to learn about Allah.

Peace, Graubo

I don’t worry too much about the end times…as long as you are right with Christ what is there to worry about. Daily Life is stressful enough let alone worrying about end times. Protestants and Catholics have vastly different views concerning the end times.
