I know that the Lectionary we use runs on a three year cycle, and is planned ahead many years in advance.
Today I was at my girlfriend’s Protestant church, and they read the exact same passage from John 15 as was read at the vigil last evening. My question is this; WHO decides what readings appear in the Lectionary? Is it the Catholic Church, and the others follow along? Who publishes it? Are the Lectionaries exactly the same across the spectrum? I ask because I want to know if fome of these Protestant churches are aware that they are following us a little more closely than they’d care to admit.
