None of those refer to Christ being the “ruler of nations”. Bowing down to God on a personal, private level and the concept of Christ as King in an unspecified, perhaps eschatological, sense aren’t the same thing as Christ being the ruler of nations at the same time that Catholic countries were being asked/encouraged/ordered to remove the Church from any privileged position in their societies and governments.I suspect your prejudices are firmly in place on this issue, but for whatever it’s worth your conception on this is pretty well exploded by the following
Still, I wasn’t there when the decision was being made, so I don’t know what specific reason the committee had for its decision. But it is very obvious that there was an overall agenda in the way texts were edited and I think it is a safe assumption that most such decisions were agenda driven.
