We receieved THE LIFE OF PI for a Christmas gift. Our teens statred to read it. Some of the questions they asked made me wonder how this book would affect their Catholic faith. I will try to read it . In the meantime I wondered if any of you kind people who’ve read it could offer a review. on the LIFE OF PI by Martel
Thank you, M.h.

I’m not Catholic, but I did read The Life of Pi (or at least major portions of it). I think you might be concerned about the religious issues addressed in the book, issues that the main character (a boy) wrestles with. In once scene, the boy meets with several religious leaders (a rabbi, iman, priest, e.g.) who all try to get him to convert to his religion. The boy responds by saying that he finds truth in all religions, and refuses to limit himself to just one. I think that the boy’s conclusion represents the general tone of the book.
