Here’s another one:

The Quran teaches that the Sun sets in a muddy spring (18:86 and 18:90). Firstly, the sun does not go down in a muddy spring every evening. Secondly, the authors of the Quran thought the earth was FLAT when they wrote this.

And how about this one:

Allah created stars as missles to throw at devils so they won’t eavesdrop on the heavenly council (67:5 and 37: 6-8)

Science or superstition?

Another error that is clearly from the mind of 7th century Arabia, not God:

Man is created out of a mere clot of congealed blood (96:2).

Aristotle erroneously believed that male semen combined with menstrual blood to create human life. The authors of the Quran may have had this in mind. But it is more likely that at least one of Muhammed’s 13 wives suffered a miscarriage and, thus, the erroneous conclusion that man is created out of a mere clot of congealed blood. However this blood clot idea was reached, it is contradicted by science.

There are many more examples of inconsistencies and scientific error in the Quran.

Those are not some hard-hitting question for Muhammed there. The men seemed to be questioning Muhammed’s knowledge of who their fathers were. It is the fact that “thorny questions” are forbidden that I am addressing.

In Judeo-Christianity, God is Father. But in the 99 names for Allah in Islam, Father is not one of them. In fact, it is condemned in Islam to understand Allah as Father:

“(Both) the Jews and the Christians say, ‘We are sons of Allah and His beloved’. Say: why then doth He punish you for your sins? Nay, you are but men of the men He has created”. Surah 5:18

But why not “thorny questions”? Why are they forbidden?

Ya know, I am so glad muslims like ‘nobleman’ post here.

Before I started reading this forum, I thought islam was simply another religion, like Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism. I thought that like these other religions, it was the personal faith of a group of people that had no interest in taking the rights and freedoms away from others. Also that, as in these other religions, leaving islam was not a capital offense. In other words, that islam was civilized.

But I see that it is NOT civilized. Every time I try to see it otherwise, someone like ‘nobleman’ comes on here and tries to defend the act of killing someone for the simple act of leaving islam. He is trying to defend murdering someone for following their heart and enjoying religious freedom such as we have here in the United States. It really shows how unappreciative I’ve become of just what freedoms are granted here in the US by our laws. Many people are living under islamic regimes where they do not have freedom of religion.

Thanks nobleman for confirming, again, that islam is a barbaric system of totalitarianism cloaked in the guise of religion. It really is closer to fascism than it is to any of the religions I listed above.
